Where it all began
Renovating your home is meant to be exciting. But let's be real—somewhere between picking paint colours and realizing you haven't had a functioning kitchen for six weeks, it can feel like chaos. That's where Elliot Lane comes in.
I'm Emma Griffiths, interior designer, renovator, and lifelong witness to the joys (and absolute madness) of home improvement. I grew up in a 100-year-old family home that belonged to my great-grandad—a house that my dad, a carpenter, spent my entire childhood renovating one room at a time. It was a slow, ever-evolving project that involved reconfiguring layouts, building extensions, and occasionally abandoning one room to focus on another (because life).
While my friends lived in homes that were simply done, I grew up in a house that was constantly in progress. It taught me a few things: possibility is everywhere, change is inevitable, and resilience is key—but it also showed me just how all-consuming a renovation can be. I spent years imagining what I'd do differently, and when I finally had my own home, I couldn't wait to bring those ideas to life. That love of transformation led me to design revamps for friends, study interior design, and eventually build Elliot Lane into what it is today.
