My name is Emma, I’m an interior designer and owner of Elliot Lane. I figured out really early on in my design career, I was only going to be as good as the tradies I worked with to bring my vision to life. My list of Trusted Trades became my most valuable asset. Gatekeeping these trades didn’t sit right with me. I wanted to get them as much work as possible, so I decided to publish my list of Trusted Trades online for local homeowners to connect directly with these professionals and hard-working businesses.
As I am working with clients on design projects, I always have projects on the go for tradies.

Our directory offerings start at the design and planning stage and reach clients often before any work has commenced. We can get you in front of homeowners earlier on in the project because they are spending less time searching for who they need. This means budgets are set earlier, quotes are received earlier and clients book you in months in advance, not days before it's urgent.
Featured in the directory with done for you listing
A full-page listing with a gallery, contact form, links to your website, and social media accounts is designed to showcase your business and make it easy for new clients to contact you. Our team will get your listing published within a day or two. All you need to do is commit to the monthly or yearly listing fee and get back on the tools to do what you do best, leaving the marketing and promotion of your business to us.
Personal intros to potential clients and referral partners
I’m proud to work with you as a trusted tradie and want to see your business grow and succeed. By introducing you to other trusted trade members, we will optimise the referral opportunities for everyone in the network. This means more word-of-mouth trusted referrals that are more likely to convert to paid clients.
Instagram post announcing your feature
We are excited to have you on board, so we dedicate an entire carousel on Instagram and Facebook to tell our friends and clients why we think you are awesome and why they should work with you. This is a shiny endorsement from a design studio. It lets people know that if a profession renowned for attention to detail works with you, then they can also trust you.
Facebook tags in groups
If I see an opportunity to shout out a tradie or business in a local Facebook community group, I will. I want Elliot Lane to be known as the place to find trusted tradies, meaning I spend my days promoting your business and mine. I’m as invested as you are. Not only are you more likely to get the job with an endorsement from an interior designer rather than putting yourself forward, but you can spend your time on the tools rather than monitoring the groups for potential new leads.
Facebook group for directory members
You get access to a private Facebook Group for directory members. Business is a numbers game, and it’s all about making connections. This group is a place for all of the trusted tradies to come and ask for recommendations or ask questions about how other high-end tradies run their businesses. We help each other raise the bar and get connected with the right people.
Home Renovation Promotional Event Opportunities
We will be hosting regular events for home renovators, and our trusted tradies will have the opportunity to put vouchers or promotional material into gift bags. There are opportunities to speak at some events, so you get in front of people at the start of their projects. These homeowners have invested money to attend the event and to network with other homeowners and tradies. Imagine all of your marketing done in one location and one night.
Postcards at trade centres
We leave a stack of postcards at our partner trade centres and other partners, like real estate agents and mortgage brokers. That's more eyes on your business. People shop at trade centres for inspiration or choose materials and finishes for their projects, so connecting with a great tradie to do the job is front of mind.

Vetted Trades only
If we recommend a tradie, we expect them to turn up on time, quote fairly for their work, and do a good job on time. We only feature tradies if I’d actually hire you to work on my own house.
Tradie-only networking opportunities
Community is really important to us. That's why we are connecting local homeowners with local businesses. It's important to me that my trusted trades also feel that sense of community. Opportunities to network with each other over beers or at breakfast to share tips and tricks, swap stories and stressors, and look out for each other's wellbeing. If you’re happy, the clients are happy, then I’m happy.
Limited Trade Categories
We limit each category to two trades. This provides the homeowner with options without overwhelming them with choices, resulting in faster turnarounds from quote to completed projects. There is less competition, so you are not dealing with tyre kickers. You have a 50% chance to win the job, so if you communicate well and submit your quote promptly, the job is as good as yours.
Large network of design colleagues
As well as working directly with homeowners in the east, I work closely with other interior designers and architects as a flooring consultant. Like I said before, when a designer finds a good tradie they’ll tell everyone, including other designers.
The first 50 listings are eligible for the introductory price of $330. This is subject to availability in each category. Yes, it's a lot of value for the price.

Absolutely! If your services span across multiple categories, we encourage you to maximise your visibility. If the category is open this can be easily done by purchasing an add-on with your subscription.
Can I update the images in my directory listing?
Of course! We welcome you to update your listing gallery as often as you like with high-quality, correctly sized images. Please note that once submitted, this process usually takes a day or two.
How do I measure the success of my directory listing?
Success measurement is as varied as the businesses we serve. We recommend using tools like Google Analytics to track where your audience finds you (your web developer will know how to do this). Additionally, asking customers how they discovered your services can provide valuable insights. Plus those enquiry forms that come through to your inbox.
Can I purchase additional social media support?

There are minor changes I'd like to make to my directory information.
How do I do this?
Making updates is simple. Please contact us directly, and we will facilitate these changes for you, ensuring your listing remains accurate and up-to-date.
How can I optimise my presence within the directory?
To get the most from your listing, respond promptly to any leads generated communicate with the client. Always ask for reviews so when people look you up they can see your reviews. Remember you’re only competing with one other listing on the directory so as long as your online presence looks good, you’ll be ok.
